We're fundraising for the future of our planet
For over forty years, together with our supporters, WWF-Australia has been at the front and centre of conservation. But we rely almost entirely on the generosity of people like you.
Your donation today will help to create a world where our most precious species and places are protected - now and into the future. And right now, we really need your help. There are amazing animals dying out in our own backyard. Australia was already in the midst of an extinction crisis before over 12 million hectares burned to the ground in the 2019/20 bushfires. This catastrophe is estimated to have killed or displaced over 3 billion animals, including thousands of koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, birds and other iconic wildlife.
The recovery task that still lays ahead is huge and needs the sustained compassion and generosity of people who care to make it possible. Regular monthly gifts are critical to ensuring we can plan ahead and invest in both the immediate and longer term programs that will help Australian nature thrive again.
Australia has already lost more mammals in the last 200 years than every other country in the world, combined – it’s a tragedy. And there are currently 19,000 Australian species that are considered 'at threat'. The situation is dire. Without a dramatic increase in conservation work to protect our threatened species, many of them will become extinct. Now is the time to increase our efforts to protect these species.
We must save the animals that make Australia the remarkably beautiful country it is. Will you help?
